Lady Scots Cross Country Team Wins Regional Championship

Congratulations to the Lady Scots Cross Country Team as they won the Region II-5A Championship on Monday, October 28th. This was the 34th Regional Championship for the Lady Scots Cross Country Program. The team won their first Regional Championship in 1976.

There were 24 teams competing for the Region II-5A Championship and 173 runners. The team scored 81 points and was led by junior Cameron Fawcett (18:15.33) and sophomore Alli Grace Ott (18:45.70). Both of these runners medaled by placing 4th and 8th respectively and also set new personal records. Freshmen Charlotte Hudson and Grace Hathaway also set new personal records. Hudson placed 14th with a time of 19:03.30 and Hathaway placed 16th with a time of 19:08.45. Junior Izzy Blaylock had a new season best with a time of 19:54.81, freshman Ella Madden set a new personal record with a time of 20:12.99, and junior Elle Thompson also set a new personal record with a time of 20:22.87. The alternates were senior captains Gracyn Applegate and Annemarie Whalen, sophomore Hadley Bornemann, and juniors Hollis Vaughan and Adelaide Aiken.

The next race for the Lady Scots will be the UIL State Meet on Saturday, November 9th at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The race begins at 1:10 p.m.
