The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed at the Coppell Invitational on Saturday, September 14th at New Coppell Middle School West in Irving. The team won the Elite Varsity Division with 17 points. Coppell placed 2nd with 48 points. There were five teams and 41 runners in this division. Junior Cameron Fawcett won the race with a time of 19:02.2, and sophomore Alli Grace Ott placed 3rd with a time of 19:50.6. Freshmen Charlotte Hudson placed 4th (20:33.7), Grace Hathaway placed 6th (20:43.1), and Ella Madden placed 9th (21:27.2). The other team members were sophomore Lola Rodriguez who placed 12th (21:43.2) and freshman Fernanda Galvan who placed 21st (22:24.1).

In the Varsity Division, the team placed 3rd with 114 points. Mansfield won the meet with 82 points. There were 14 teams and 108 runners in this division. Junior Hollis Vaughan led the team by placing 21st with a time of 23:32.7. Sophomores Sterling Willis placed 22nd and Avery Turner placed 23rd. Turner set a new personal record with a time of 23:46.3. The other team members were senior captain Kate Allen, freshman Kennedy Foy, senior Emily Hea, and freshman Avery Owens.

In the JV Division, the team placed 1st with 48 points. Southlake Carroll placed 2nd with 68 points. There were 11 teams and 146 runners in this division. Sophomore Hadley Bornemann placed 2nd with a time of 23:33.6. Junior Adelaide Aiken placed 6th with a time of 24:10.0. The other top five team members were sophomore Lily Baumgartner, senior Caroline Dugan, freshman Chloe Haag, junior Allison Brown, and freshman Windsor Rhodes.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Lovejoy XC Fall Festival on Saturday, September 21st. The meet will be held at Myers Park in McKinney, and the first race is at 7:30 a.m.
